This portable piano keyboard is small enough to live on a desk or a kitchen counter, yet it plays like a real instrument. Thirty-seven velocity-sensitive keys span three octaves, so a light touch sounds soft and a firm one rings out.

What makes a good first piano for a child? It should be light enough to carry, sound like an actual piano, and be ready the moment it comes out of the box. This kids piano has stereo speakers and a rechargeable battery built in, a headphone jack for quiet practice, and USB-C for charging and MIDI.

Finished in red with solid wood ends and a fabric front, it looks good left out on a shelf, which means it gets played. The box holds chord and scale flashcards, a printed guide, and a USB-C cable, so lessons can start that afternoon.

Perfect for: birthday gifts, Christmas morning, first music lessons, homeschool music time, grown-ups learning piano, and gifts for musicians.
